Adaptable Recruitment are exclusively partnering with a growing business based in Widnes who are looking to recruit a dedicated and detail orientated Finance Assistant to join their team on a permanent basis .

39 hours per week

Job Duties and Responsibilities

  • Accurately entering invoices into the purchase ledger to ensure timely processing and record-keeping.
  • Processing sales invoices and employee expenses with attention to detail and compliance with company policies.
  • Managing Purchase Orders, including coding, matching POs, and handling job costings to maintain financial accuracy.
  • Supporting credit control activities to help manage outstanding balances and improve cash flow.
  • Assisting with month-end closing processes, ensuring all financial data is accurate and up to date.
  • Conducting bank and supplier reconciliations to verify transactions and resolve discrepancies promptly.
  • Performing general finance duties as required to support the smooth running of the finance department.


Key Skills and Experience

  • Proven experience working within a finance department, demonstrating a solid understanding of financial processes.
  • Familiarity with Business Central or similar financial management software is preferred.
  • Strong communication skills, able to convey information clearly and confidently.
  • Self-motivated with the ability to work independently and take initiative.
  • High level of accuracy and strong attention to detail in all tasks.
  • Collaborative team player, committed to meeting deadlines and supporting colleagues.

Qualifications and Attributes

  • Proficient IT skills, with confidence in using Microsoft Office products, particularly Excel and Outlook.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication abilities.
  • Able to follow instructions carefully and work effectively under minimal supervision.
  • Skilled at prioritising workload efficiently to meet deadlines in a fast-paced environment.
  • Customer-focused mindset, with the ability to interpret and respond to client needs appropriately.
  • Demonstrated ability to work well within a team, fostering positive working relationships.
