Senior HR Advisor (12 month Maternity Cover)

Location: Huytonn (hybrid)

Salary: £30,000 -£40,000

Our client, a well‑established organisation within the manufacturing sector, is seeking an experienced and confident Senior HR Advisor to provide maternity cover at one of their high‑volume production sites. This is a hands‑on, operational role supporting both site-level HR and wider group initiatives.

The Role

Working closely with the team you will deliver a full HR advisory service while supporting operational teams across the business. You will be a visible and trusted partner, ensuring HR activity is efficient, compliant and aligned with best practice.

Key responsibilities include:

* Managing end‑to‑end employee relations cases (investigations, disciplinaries, grievances, absence, capability, redundancy)

* Coaching line managers on employment law and HR processes

* Supporting workforce planning, organisational change and shift structures

* Leading site recruitment and overseeing onboarding and probation

* Supporting performance reviews, appraisals and succession planning

* Ensuring compliance with UK employment law, internal policy and GDPR

* Supporting employee engagement initiatives and consultation forums

* Preparing payroll amendments and ensuring accurate HR data

About You

Our client is looking for a proactive self‑starter who is confident, adaptable and capable of managing a busy operational workload. You must have:

* CIPD Level 5 (or working towards)

* Strong HR advisory experience within a manufacturing or industrial environment

* Demonstrable experience managing complex ER cases

* Excellent organisational skills and attention to detail

* Strong communication skills with the confidence to influence managers

* Solid understanding of UK employment law

* Comfort working in a fast‑moving, high‑volume operational setting

Desirable:

* Experience working in unionised environments

* Exposure to continuous process, extrusion or similar industrial operations
